Safely mount your Air or Digital (Standard Duty and Heavy Duty) EvenMix® Large Tank Mixer  to the top of most common large plastic/polymer tanks. This mount is designed to hold our Air or Digital Drives, while having a center hole large enough to fit our reinforced shaft and locking collar utilized in our Large Tank Mixers. This mounting solution can also work with various other smaller containers with some minor customization to the tank (ex. drilling a small hole for installation of the Bulkhead Mount).

Once installed, the Bulkhead Mount becomes a permanent adaptation to your container. If you ever need to remove the Drive from the vessel, you will leave the Bulkhead Mount installed. Each container that you plan on utilizing the Bulkhead Mount for will require it’s own Bulkhead Mount.

To better illustrate how this reducer works, think of a paint company that has 3 separate totes (or barrels) that contain different colors (one red, one white, and one yellow). Without substantial cleaning between uses, you wouldn’t want to use the red shaft/blades inside of the white container as to not contaminate the white paint with red residue. This fitting allows the operator to have 3 separate shaft/blade combinations and one Drive to mix all 3 containers. When the Drive is removed from one container, the shaft/blades will stay within the container they are mounted to. Removal of each shaft (when needed) is a breeze and as simple as unscrewing the cap (IBC Totes) or unmounting the mount from the container and pulling out the shaft/blades.

The EvenMix® Anti-Contamination Fitting/Reducer is INCLUDED with our “No Drive” Packages (ex. M-6-32-0-16-04-2-1, M-B-29-0-15-02-3-1, etc.). The Anti-Contamination Fitting/Reducer will work with any EvenMix® mounting solution for our Standard Duty Drives (Air Driven, 120v Electric, Battery-Operated), BUT WILL NOT work for our Heavy Duty Digital Drive as it requires a different Anti-Contamination device (contact us for more information on this reducer for our HD Drive).

This package comes with our quick-detach, “Anti-Contamination” Fitting/Reducer, which allows for the mixing of multiple containers with a single Drive without ever having to remove the shaft/drive from the container. With multiple M-6-32-0-16-04-2-2 packages, operators can simply unscrew the Drive from one “No Drive” package and attach it to another package that contains the anti-contamination fitting/reducer – leaving the original shaft and blades inside of the original container.

Our patented variable pitch folding blade design ensure a thorough mix throughout the entire container, clearing out corners in standard IBC Totes and breaking up settled material on the bottom of the IBC.

The patented blade design folds in half to fit inside of the standard 6” opening on most IBC totes and once the mixer begins to rotate counter-clockwise, the blades deploy to a 16” diameter. When done rotating, the blades will fold back down to allow for easy removal from the vessel. The patented blades, when combined with an EvenMix® Drive, allow for a “no shear” mix with almost zero air entrapment as a vortex is rarely generated in the mixing process. The unique curvatures in the blade get rotation on both a horizontal and vertical axis – allowing for a more complete mix in a fraction of the time needed with traditional mixers.

All EvenMix® packages are completely modular in their operation. Operators can reuse the Drive for various different containers (55-gallon barrels, large poly tanks, etc.) or use one Drive to mix multiple containers of the same type with the EvenMix® Anti-Contamination Fitting/Reducer.

We’ve tested EvenMix® Mixing Packages in materials over 20,000+ centipoise and these intermittent mixers make short work out of most materials. If longer mixing cycles are part of the mixing process, we also offer our “Heavy Duty” Digital (120v) Geared Drive as an additional option that works with most EvenMix accessories, shafts, and blade designs.

Patented Mixing Blade

With all of that going for it, the real genius is in the mixing blade. It’s a folding twisted blade that expands to 15” in diameter when fully expanded. The EvenMix® patented blade folds to fit into a 2” bung side or center opening. That’s right, a variable pitch blade (not a mixing paddle which doesn’t create much mixing or a straight pitch blade which creates cyclones that suck air into your liquid) but a patented EvenMix® blade that goes from 90 degrees to 30 degrees and in several of our videos is proven to produce a superior mix – in a closed head drum.

3D Mixing Performance

Look at how the EvenMix® moves liquid around the drum as it circulates material and liquid. This drum is filled with 1,000 centipoise liquid glycerin (about the consistency of paint) with some blue stars and sand, yes sand. You can even see how it picks up sand from the bottom of the drum and moves it around the container. We have really had a breakthrough with this mixer by engineering a way to get the blade into the drum. All wetted parts are made from Non-reactive food-grade stainless steel 316.

How can you use it? In a closed head drum or barrel with a 2 inch bung to the side of a top lid (with the mounting bracket).  In a closed head with a 2-inch center bung on the top lid.  In an open head with a 1 1/2 inch or 2-inch center bung in the top lid.  All Yes! Installation & Operation

This package is intended for purchase by individuals that already have an EvenMix® Drive and only need the Mount (lid), shaft and blades. This package is for individuals that are looking to mix in Open-Head Barrels and features our Anti-Contamination piece which will hold the shaft/blades in place when the motor is removed from the mount/lid.

There are many ways to mix in drums. However, not all the mixing ways are sufficient enough for the job. Things such as rolling the drums, air mixing, and bung insert mixers are some of these options. When you are looking to mix the liquid inside a drum, you need to understand to what degree do you need the contents mixed. Some materials and applications don’t need super accurate mixing. However, most do. That is why we offer the most effective mixer on the market today. When it comes to a quality mixer, you need something dependable and user-friendly. The EvenMix® Drum Lid Mixer offers just these features and more.

Rolling drum mixer

A Rolling drum mixer is a somewhat effective but easy way to mixing in drums. Essentially it is just rolling the drum around. This can be done by placing the drum on the floor and rolling it to the desired location. As the drum rolls, it will mix the contents inside. This is not a super-effective way to blend what is inside the drum, but for some materials, it may be all that you need.

Air Mixing

Air mixing in drums is well just that, mixing with air. Air mixing is excellent, but it doesn’t get down in the corners of the barrel. The edges tend to get left out. And, well, you are injecting air into your materials, which can cause unwanted bubbles in the materials as well. This is a form of mixing that works for some materials, but it is not the best choice.

Bung inserted mixers

Bung mixing in drums is a method to mix materials inside a drum, as well. However, they are not very effective, run at high speeds, and cause temperature issues. These mixers run at high speeds and quite often run a high shear rate due to high speed. Typically they have a tiny and ineffective blade on them that turns the material.

The EvenMix®

The EvenMix® Drum Lid Mixer is a mixer that is designed to do the max amount of mixing in drums as possible. It has a patented 16″ center blade that unfolds once inside the drum. The Drum Bung Clamp converts any of our EvenMix® mixers to a drum mixer. The Drum Bung Clamp mounts using a clamp to the side of a barrel and works by angling the mixer in such a way that our smaller blades (2″ Tall Variable Pitch Blades and 29″ Shaft) can fit through a standard NPT opening on a closed head barrel with (or without) a removable lid.
