It’s no secret that EvenMix® is an innovator in the mixing blade industry. We’ve talked about it extensively in our past blogs, but we’ve never got down to what differentiates us from our competitors. We feel that it is important to inform our customers, and this is the first step in doing so!
Shopping around for a mixer can be a very overwhelming process. With so many different blades, sizes, and features, it can be difficult to discern which product is right for your needs. Not to mention the lack of information on most Web sites. That’s why we want to set the record straight, and give you the information you need to get the best quality product.
Misconceptions With Mixers on the Market
One of the most common misconceptions with mixers is that more horsepower produces better results. The truth is, quality dispersion of materials within a solution is completely independent of horsepower, and the only reason some manufacturers need such high horsepower motors is because they need to overcome the incredibly high drag that their blades produce. In fact, our competitors’ blades have a drag that is almost 3x higher. To make up for this, they have to supply extra power through their motor.
Another misconception that is commonly seen is that more than two blades are necessary to have powerful mixing capabilities. We’ve seen through our own testing, and through testing that NASA performed for optimizing wind turbines, that this is simply not true. A third blade may add more energy to the mixing process, but it also requires more energy as well. A fourth blade not only requires more energy, but it also has a minimal effect on performance. Our two bladed model, on the other hand, is simple, easier to make, and easier to balance. We’ve optimized the two-blade, which gives us superior performance with easier manufacturing and deployment. Our mixing blade is by and large the best on the market.
